UWM sells historic Alumni Property offices for conversion to private property

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Alumni House has been sold to local business operator and philanthropist Andy Nunemaker.

College of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s historic Alumni House has been marketed to Milwaukee enterprise operator and philanthropist Andy Nunemaker for $1.8 million, it was introduced Wednesday.

Nunemaker ideas to renovate the building into a personal home — its authentic objective just before remaining utilized by UWM as a dormitory and places of work.

The three-tale, 18,000-square-foot building, 3230 E. Kenwood Blvd., is known for its Tudor Revival architectural style and its site just north of Lake Park and Lincoln Memorial Drive.

The 14-bed room mansion and its 9.3-acre good deal are together valued at $1.93 million, in accordance to town evaluation records.

The funds-strapped UW Program in July began in search of proposals for the property to be sold or leased.

The mansion was constructed in 1923 as the Myron T. and Gertrude MacLaren Residence, according to the university. Its lot consists of 175 feet of frontage on Lake Michigan.
