Panasonic lawsuits say Broadcom violated computer tech patents

(Reuters) – Japanese electronics maker Panasonic accused chipmaker Broadcom Corp of violating its rights in various computer system-know-how patents in Texas federal court Thursday.

Panasonic Holdings Corp explained to the court that Broadcom turned down its provides to examine a license to its patent portfolio, which it stated included a “broad array” of Broadcom solutions.

The twolawsuits say Broadcom merchandise like microprocessors, built-in circuits and parts made use of in wireless networking infringe 10 Panasonic patents.

Broadcom, Panasonic, and Panasonic’s lawyers did not promptly reply to requests for comment.

Panasonic asked the U.S. District Court docket for the Western District of Texas for an unspecified quantity of revenue damages and a court docket order completely blocking Broadcom from violating its patent legal rights.

The lawsuits also said Broadcom infringed the patents willfully, noting that Broadcom had cited some of them in its own patent programs.

Broadcom previously sued Panasonic, Toyota and others in a different Texas court above Toyota infotainment devices it mentioned violate its patents. The organization missing its bid for an import ban at the U.S. International Trade Fee dependent on the allegations, and the functions agreed to dismiss the Texas situation in May.
