Steel detectors were being installed in the House in the aftermath of a riot at the Capitol in January. Supporters of previous President Donald Trump breached the Capitol constructing, forcing some lawmakers to go into hiding. Household Speaker Nancy Pelosi spearheaded the rule transform.
