Hingham’s historic Aged Ship Church signed an settlement to market its 19th century Parish Property to a regional developer, but the sale has not yet been finalized.

Nina Wellford, the church’s treasurer, confirmed in an e-mail the church signed a obtain and sale arrangement with Hingham-primarily based growth business Atlantic Growth on Dec. 23.

Wellford declined to share the agreed-upon sale price, but stated it “demonstrates the worth of the property for each DJ and Aged Ship.”

Previous yr, the city assessed the Parish Household property at $3,929,200. In 2017, when the house was on the market just before parishioners voted to choose it off, it was mentioned at $3.75 million.

The sale will not close until eventually the developer receives the needed permits for the project, Wellford stated.

Developing a new parish house
