Flat Rat: A Slammed1950 Ford COE Firetruck On Air

I know, I know, I reported I’d publish additional of this 1950 Ford COE just above a 7 days back. My undesirable, I bought a very little distracted. I’ll expose why before long. But, just take these more pics of my penance.

This truck, regarded as the Flat Rat hails from Keswick Ontario and was constructed by it’s owner Scott Badger (@keswickscott).

Scott has owned the truck taxi about 10 years now. Things definitely acquired going on the truck about five yrs ago, with major progress becoming manufactured during the pandemic.

From driving the tilt cab to where by the personalized four-connection commences is most of a widened Chevy 3500 chassis. Forward of the front wheels is mainly manufacturing unit Ford with signficant modifications done to make the steering do the job at the truck’s new top.

The motor is a 7.3L Powerstroke with a T4 turbo improve backed by an computerized transmission.

Scott managed to maintain as considerably primary as he could, but he did have to swap a bit of sheet steel here and on the cab. The new additions have been sprayed by Scott in either white or pink.

Scott and his son also created all 11 feet of the mattress from scratch.

Nothing much more than an English wheel and a Princess Car bead roller was employed in the bed design.

In simple fact, the complete truck was developed in a relatively humble house garage. Proving as soon as once again that wherever there’s a will there is a way when it arrives to do-it-by yourself fabrication. A little something that certainly presented a little bit of drive for my personal project.

The tailgate of the truck is essentially a 2nd COE entrance end that has been modified to produce a tailgate. Scott stuffed the grill, built it hinge and took the Tremendous Duty embossing from a late model ford.

“If this isn’t Tremendous Responsibility I do not know what is,” Scott said.

For the eagle-eyed, of course the tail lights are rotated versions from a 65 Ford Mustang, Quite intelligent if you request me.

Obviously, this truck is very much up my alley and I hope to see much more of it once again quickly.
